What Diet? - The Raw Diet
Based on the principle that only food that is Uncooked is actually living food, complete with all its vitamins and minerals, essential fats and amino-acids (from proteins) intact. This is, quite simply, food at its best, unadulterated, un-processed and uncooked. This approach includes meats and fish eaten raw or marinated in citrus juices, and including many vegetarian sources of proteins, such as nuts and seeds, sprouted beans (eg. Alfalfa) and soya based products. Brought to life originally by Canadian health writer, Leslie Kenton in her book, Raw Energy in the 1970’s. An excellent way to detox the body, harder to maintain in the longer term.
