The Ultimate New York Diet comes from celebrity fitness trainer David Kirsch. Kirsch says you can "expect to lose up to 14 pounds, five inches off your waist, and a heavy percentage of body fat during the first two weeks of the plan alone". Nutritionally the plan takes a low-carb high-protein approach. Phase 1 lasts two weeks and daily calorie intake is restricted to 800-1000 calories. Phase 2 is two weeks long with a daily calorie intake of 900-1000. In both phases there is a list of forbidden food. Phase 3 is the lifelong phase and designed to maintain health and weight for life.
