Source: Leading food brands are loaded with more salt than supermarkets’ own labels
This article highlights that neither price, brand name or perceived quality necessarily means a healthier choice. Unfortunately many people do fall into the trap of thinking that if they spend more money on a 'respected brand' then they are going to get a healthier product. But this is not the case, neither is own brand always a healthier option. It is imperative that you check and compare the nutritional values, including salt of any product you buy. Many people say they simply 'don't have time' to do this, but once you get into the habit and you know what to to look for it only takes a few extra seconds. You only have to compare the products once and then you know which one to choose in future.
